Today I wanted to finally get the pieces in place and photographed. That way I can say that one room is complete.
As you know, I had recently changed some of the furniture and put them in place in the tower. Here is the room as it is now.
I am trying to make it look dirty and unkempt. I have actually manage to sand the floor to give it a dirty look but, I may need to darken the layer to give it a more realistic look as it looks too light a grey...
I am pleased with the items on the pieces of furniture and am getting the right level of clutter now.
Ok, now that I have looked again at the photos, I really do need to get the floor sorted, that really is too pale to look dirty. I have lots of paint through so, maybe a dry brush over with a dark brown/grey.
Hopefully, I will get chance later in the week to concentrate on it. My son is coming to visit tomorrow so I am not planning on doing many crafts/minis so we have time to chill and catch up.

Cottage update
Today I thought I would look at my little 24th scale cottage.
The first thing I noticed was that it is in need of a spring clean and dust.
The next thing on my todo list is to sort out the bedding. and try and fix the piece of furniture where the drawer is constantly falling out.
The saucepans still have no home at the moment. I am currently trying to decide whether to keep all or some of them. I also need to fill the book shelf. I am hoping to make all the books so that they open.
I have started to work on a scene for the loft area as well. We will see how it goes. It is still in the early stages of planning.
I am now going to introduce you to the latest addition to the cottage
I havent got a name for him yet. I saw him on a shelf in a junk shop and couldnt resist him.

In need of a sort... again
Today was the turn of the pet shop.
As you can see, it is feeling a little neglected. I havent done much to it recently. I must admit, I am starting to get more enthusiastic when looking at some of the ball jointed dolls.
I am hoping to have another push at getting some of the items and animals in place. I had wonderful plans when it came to sorting out the shop. I would like to make it even more over run with animals eventually.
As you can see, there are books on the floor of the shop. I am thinking of using them to try and fill up the bookshelf in the living room of the terrace house and making books for the pet shop with proper petcare titles. I keep having so many plans. I really need to be a little more strict so that I can complete some of them.
I still have not found a person that I am happy with to run the shop. I have a lady that I was going to use on the market stall but, I have had to put the stall away due to lack of space and my larger doll collection growing.
This was one of my newer guinea pig hutches. It is a little big for the downstairs of the shop but, I am considering putting it upstairs and including more animals up in what was originally going to be the office area.

This is my favourite guinea pig hutch. The photo does not do it justice. I have had this hutch for a year or so now so you have probably seen it before. I bought it from a Miniatura show I went to.
Hopefully, I will manage to complete one of my projects by the end of next year.

Tangkou Heaven
It has been a very chilly day today. I only left the house long enough to sort out buying cards and even then I was glad to get back home.
I spent some time sorting out my Tangkou dolls today. I was mainly looking at my Italia doll. Since I bought her last Christmas, I have always slightly overlooked her as she is so similar to one of my others, the main difference being clothes.
She is still pretty though
Her eye change is better than the France doll, which seems to get stuck on one colour every time.
Unfortunately, I then made the mistake of looking online and there are more releases coming out. I must admit here that I did not do very well as I have ordered the Fairy doll. She looks very pretty and according to the description, she has a removable wig and horns held with magnets. I am going to be very interested to see what she is like when she is released at the end of December.

Changing Furniture
I have been looking at changing and sorting some of the furniture in my tower.
I had plain wood furniture picked out and removed some of the drawers etc and took off a couple of doors to get the look I was after.
Here are the pieces of furniture partly taken apart. (I had forgotten to take pics before I had done anything to them).
I decided to go for a darker wood look and make them look used and dishevelled with a base coat of black paint and then wood brown washed over the top.
Please excuse the mess behind the furniture, but, you get the idea. I will take more photos of this once I have filled them and put them in place in the tower.
So, that has been some progress on some of my minis.... finally.
